I resigned from my job with a major company in London last month. I had a week's holiday, and went in on the Wednesday to hand in my resignation because I was so fed up. So I was at my desk, printing out my resignation letter, and... a guy walks in and slaps some work for me down in front of me. Even though I told him I was on holiday and just in the office for ten minutes. He told me to do it by Friday, even though I offered to do it on Monday (i.e. when I was officially back from holiday). No can do. Has to be done by Friday, absolutely has to be done. If I had any doubts about resigning, that just quashed them right there. I went and resigned immediately afterwards, taking even more pleasure in it than I otherwise would have.
